The museum features nationally recognised exhibits showcased in an outdoor setting with thoughtfully created collections. There is an emphasis on Early Living and Multiculturalism, with Australia's largest Tobacco Industry exhibit and an eclectic collection of historical pieces from the Mareeba district. School and after-school groups are also catered for with special packages available that include hands-on participation. There are also function areas that can be hired for various corporate and group needs. The museum is free of charge and visitors can enjoy self guided tours at their leisure.
